Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home on 277 S. with interment to follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 26 from 6-8:00 PM also at the funeral home.
Jackie was born on October 16, 1935 in Baird, Texas to the late Richard Goble and Lossie May (Mitchell) Goble. She was raised on the Caldwell Ranch near Cross Plains, Texas. In 1948 the family moved to Abilene where she graduated from Abilene High School in 1954. She married her beloved Billy R. Carey on July 1, 1954. Jackie was a devoted homemaker nurturing and caring for her husband and two boys, Larry and Mark. Jackie was a faithful Christian women over the years she was a part of several churches to include, Broadview Baptist Church, Elmwood Baptist Church, Concho Baptist Church in Coleman and recently attended the Woodlawn Church with her friends.
Jackie enjoyed anything that allowed her to be creative from sewing to making jewelry. Her work was always very nice and detailed. Jackie loved being MomMa to her grandchildren. Family was always, "number one" to her. She also enjoyed spending time with many wonderful friends she made down through the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy R. Carey; grandson, Judd Carey; brother, R.L. Goble; and her little sister, Gail Bradshaw.
She is survived by her sons, Larry Carey and his wife, Peggy, Mark Carey and his wife, Sandy; 4 grandchildren, Nathan Carey and wife Bonita, Kara Castillo and husband Felix, Leanna May Grosvenor and husband Brett, and Kegan Carey and wife Liz; her many great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends.
