Jack Elizabeth Walton Chisholm was born in Stamford, Texas on December 14, 1919 and passed away on July 21, 2018 at age 98. She was born at home as were her two sisters. Before she started school, she was taught the alphabet, how to print her name and how to count. She moved to Abilene, Texas with her family on February 28, 1934 and finished her schooling at Abilene High School. After high school, she attended two years of college at Hardin-Simmons University.
She began work for the Bell Telephone company in Abilene in June of 1938 as a sales representative. There she met Billie Chisholm Davis, who introduced her to her nephew, Jack Ennis Chisholm in 1940.
Jack Elizabeth Walton wed Jack Ennis Chisholm on October 9, 1942 in Bronte, Texas. They lived in Abilene until after the war in 1945 when they moved to Ballinger, Texas. They lived there until 1952 when the moved to McCamey, Texas. She followed her husband back to Abilene in July of 1956 when his business expanded. She lived at 3333 Rosedale Dr. for almost 69 years.
Jack was a member of Eastern Star Queen Esther Chapter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack E. Chisholm, in 1990. Also her parents, Otis Lee (Buster) Walton and Hazel Duncan and her two sisters, Dosey Reeves and Neal Williams.
She is survived by two sons, Jack Chisholm, Jr and wife Linda of Abilene and George Chisholm and wife Carolyn of Abilene., She is also survived by three granddaughters, Christine Lindley and husband John, Robin Benton and husband Johnnie of St. Clair, Missouri and Ashleigh Goff and husband Kerry of Fredericksburg, Texas. One nephew, Duncan Boyer of Abilene. Great grandchildren: Austin J. Lindley, Colton Lindley, Kaitlyn Lindley, Logan Goff and Emery Goff. Step granddaughter Rebecca Ochoa and husband Ramie, Bobby Hayes and his girls Hailey and Erika. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and cousins.
Visitation: Tuesday July 24, 2018 5 to 7 PM at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home 5701 Hwy 277 South, Abilene.
Memorial Services: Wednesday, July 25, 2018 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church sanctuary, 1333 N.3rd in Abilene.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be given to the First Baptist Church missions programs.
