Hilda Pauline Humphreys

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2012, in Abilene City Cemetery (Cedar Hill section), with Frankie Santiago officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory, Abilene. The family will receive friends at a visitation 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2012, at the funeral home.

Hilda was born December 29, 1927 to Claud Lee McWilliams and Dora Opal Dodson McWilliams in Abilene, Texas. She graduated from Abilene High School and obtained an associate degree from Cisco Jr. College. Hilda married Dale Lionel Humphreys on April 22, 1945 in Abilene, Texas. She was self-employed in a drive-in business for fifteen years. Hilda retired from West Texas Utilities where she was in distribution after eleven years of employment. She was a lifelong resident of Abilene and a member of North Park Baptist Church. After she moved to Sweetwater to be near one of her sons, Hilda became a member of Light House Assembly of God Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale Lionel Humphreys (1994); and a brother, Virgil Don "Sonny" McWilliams.

Survivors include two sons, Roger Humphreys and Milton Humphreys; a daughter, Linda Johnson; and a brother, Burl McWilliams; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
