Graveside services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday January 21, 2023 at Elmwood Memorial Park at 10:00 AM under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 5-6:30 PM at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home 5701 US Highway 277 S. in Abilene.
Glenna was born on May 28, 1938 in Eastland County to the late Devoe and Verlee (Robertson) Dover. Glenna was raised in Carbon, TX until the family relocated to Stephenville. She graduated from Stephenville High School where she was the head of the Stingerettes Drill Team and went onto attend Tarleton State University. She married the love of her life Floyd Edgar Geer on October 27, 1956. Glenna and Floyd were best friends and soulmates until his passing in 2020. Glenna was a devoted homemaker and nurtured her two kids, Linda and Jeff. Glenna enjoyed life she kept busy with square dancing with Wagon Wheel, tennis, puzzles, and many church functions. She also enjoyed embroidery, sewing, crocheting, knitting, needlepoint, and collecting antiques. She will be remembered for her love for the Lord, her sense of humor, her contagious smile and laugh. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Abilene for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her devoted husband of 66 years, Floyd Geer; and brother, Aaron Lee Dover, Sr.
She is survived by her; son, Jeffery Geer and his wife Susan of Lafayette, CO; daughter, Linda Geer Abilene, TX; her sister, Doris Brown; 6 grandchildren, Sarah Stone, Natalie Geer, Mindy McRae, Danielle Moran, Rebeka Geer, and Joshua Geer; 7 great grandchildren, Bennett, Reagan, and Sullivan Stone, Cale McRae, Dax, Holden and Stevie Moran; sister-in-law, Jan Mitchell and a host of nieces, and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Windcrest and Hospice of the Big Country for Glenna’s care.
