Glenda Claire Weaver

Glenda Claire Weaver died June 17, 2011 in Abilene, Texas. She was 76 years old and was born half-way between Cross Plains and Cottonwood, Texas to Richard Warren Spencer and Irene Clifton Spencer. Her grandparents were George Clifton (Pa) and Agnes Earl Clifton (Po) of the same area.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 20, 2011, at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, with Dale Morrison and Stephen Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Highway 277 South, Abilene. The family will receive friends at a visitation 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Her father worked for Shell Pipeline and she moved numerous times. Glenda went to junior high in Kermit, Texas and to high school in Odessa while living in Notrees. She married Don R. Weaver in 1954. Don and Glenda lived in Odessa, Gainesville, Abilene, and for the last 40 years in View, Texas. She worked in the family business for 30 years, Packer Sales and Service and View Industrial Products, now owned by son Barry Weaver. Glenda was the only woman to serve on the Butterfield School Board before consolidation with the Wylie School District. She was a member of the Buffalo Gap Church of Christ.

Glenda was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents; her husband, Don Weaver; and a "favorite" cousin, Gaylon Coppinger.

Survivors include a son, Barry Weaver and wife, Malinda, of View and two daughters, Pam Baugh and husband, Ken, of Gustine and Angela Romero and husband, Mac, of View; seven grandchildren, Tiffany Duncan and husband, Wade, of Waco, Adam Baugh of San Marcus, Anthony Romero of Midland, Chelsea Weaver of Stephenville, Dustin Romero of Abilene, Levi Weaver of Lubbock, and a delightful little fellow nine years old, Cade Weaver; two brothers, R.W. Spencer, III of Odessa, and David Spencer of Kentucky; a cousin, Kirk Coppinger of Fairview, Texas; numerous nephews and nieces; and many friends.
