On July 8, 2024, Glen Chuck Long passed away at age 85 after suffering a stroke, in Abilene, Texas. Chuck was born at home on October 28, 1938, in Greenville, Texas, to Roy Long and Lily Belle Stevens and was one of four brothers.
Chuck was a member of the Abilene High School Football Team of the Century, graduating in 1958. He served in the US Army after high school and enjoyed collecting coins and watching sports, especially football. He was a member of Hawley Church of Christ.
Chuck was survived by his wife Judy Hall Long; sons Ted Long and Tab Long (Shelly); grandchildren Lindsey Watkins (Nick), Matthew Long (Katelyn), and Sara Skiles (Frank); and great-grandchildren Lane and Aubrie Watkins, Hudson Long, and Renn and Penrose Skiles; and brother Roger Long.
He was preceded in death by his parents Roy Long and Lily Belle Stevens; wife of 50 years Bunny Long; wife of 4 years Jennalee Long; brothers Gene Colvin and Mark Long; and great-granddaughter Blake Ann Long.
