Florene Allison

Rossie Florene Moore Allison, 89, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2015 at her residence in Cisco, Texas. We will celebrate her wonderful, loving life at 3:00p.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy 277 South with Rev. James King officiating. Burial will follow in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation will be at 2:00p.m. (one hour prior to service time) on Saturday at the funeral home.

Florene was born on May 29, 1926, in Ft. Worth, Texas to the late Samuel Clyde Moore and Stella Eastman Moore. She graduated from Abilene High School in 1944 and attended Straughn’s Business College. Florene married Olin Norris Allison in 1945 in Jones County, Texas. She dearly loved all of her children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with her family. She attended Grace Tabernacle Church in Abilene and at age 75, she retired from the job she loved as receptionist at Texas Child Protective Services.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Olin in 2003; two sons, James and Raymond Allison; and a daughter, Shirley Glisson. Survivors include three daughters, Darlene Mayfield of Owasso, OK, Dixie Courtney of Abilene, and Rebecca Wylie of Cisco; one sister, Sue Taylor of Ft. Worth; twelve grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
