A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, June 18 at 2pm in the Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy 277 South. The family will receive friends for a visitation after the service.
Kurt was born in Lubbock on February 7, 1959 to Samuel Morman and Doris Mutz. He was raised by his mother and step-father, Ronald Wellborn, and attended Monterey High School. In his adulthood, Kurt lived many places before settling in Abilene. He worked many jobs as a truck driver, including Keebler and Mrs. Baird's. Kurt was also a skilled mechanic, an avid pool player and enjoyed gardening. He was lovingly known by his kids and grandkids as "Pop" and will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
He is preceded in death by his biological father and step-father.
He is survived by his mother; three brothers; two sisters; his five children, daughter, Jennifer Sikes and husband Brannon of Abilene, son, Derek Pena and wife Ashley of Fort Worth, daughter, Shanda Morman and husband Melvin of Lubbock, son, Kurtis Morman and wife Melissa of Buffalo Gap, son, and Korey Morman and wife Juanita of Coleman; numerous grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind longtime best friend, John Zamaripas; and mother of his children, Tammy Morman.
