Glenn was born July 1, 1932 to the late William Clay Markham and Elizabeth Glendenning Markham in Stamford, Texas. He graduated from Texas Tech in 1954 with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. He then served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Upon returning, he went to dental school in Houston and received a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas in 1961. Glenn practiced dentistry in Lubbock for forty years.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, Johnnell McKinzie Markham, and his brother, John Markham.
Surviving Glenn are his wife of 22 years Carlene Terry Markham; his son, Mark Markham and wife Tammy; his daughter, Gwen Damron and husband Doyle; and his grandchildren, Clayton and Kayla Damron and Casey Boyd. Also surviving Glenn are his stepdaughter, Terry Rogers and husband Bill; and stepson, Brad English and wife Caren; and a special step granddaughter Pallas Lowe and husband Devin and their children Solya and Phoenix who loved their Pawpaw and visited him faithfully every Friday after school. He also had several other step grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A private family burial service will be held at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
