Delma Jacqueline Bell Wright, 88, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2014. Services will be at 11 am on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Macedonia Baptist Church with burial following in Abilene Municipal Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a visitation Friday evening from 4 to 6 pm at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory Street.
Delma was born on August 31, 1926 in Henderson, Texas. She enjoyed gardening, watching her favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys, and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her husband, George A. Wright; parents, George Henry Allen Bell and Ruby (Arledge) Bell; brothers, Billy, Fred, Thomas, and James Bell; and sister Marjie Johnson.
Survivors include her son, Eddie (Crystal) Harris; daughters, Marjiann Pope, Kate (Stephen) Johnson, Jacqueline (Otis) Raymond; brother, Clarence (Sarah) Bell; sister, Annie Jo Alexander; chosen daughter, Rosalind Pope and children Michael Jefferson II, Tiandrea Thompson, Adrian Brown; niece and nephew Rena and George Robert Johnson; grandchildren, Sharlonda Pope and children Maurio, Atana, and Anycia Grady; Sivad Pope and children, Sivad II, Shailah and Lydia; Leslie Pope and children, Deshaun Pope, Coleyanne and Coley Grayson; Yusef (Amanda) McCree and children, Peighton and Devin McCree; Bevie (Andre) Jackson III; Kimberly Tolliver; Leslie (Sarah) Tolliver II; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
