Darlene Eugenia King, 90, of Abilene, Texas passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025 in San Antonio, Texas.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 1:30 PM at Elmwood Memorial Park under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home.
Darlene was born on February 10, 1935 in Sheffield, Illinois to the late Grover Cleveland Wheeler and Reatha Riller (Decker) Wheeler.
She married Charles Dean King on January 21, 1953, in Cambridge, Il. She moved to Abilene in 1975. She was a devoted homemaker for her family. In the past she held membership in several fraternal organization to include the Disabled AMerican Veterans Auxiliary.
Darlene had the spirit of endurance as she persevered through many of life's trials. She gave of herself to her family and those she loved. She will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles King; daughter, Anita June King; brothers Grover Wheeler; sister, Dora Schuyf
She is survived by her sons, Walter Breck King, Ronald Lynn King, Robert Lewis King; her daughter, Laura King Powers; stepson, Terry King; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren.
