Daniel “Grandpaw” Ray Winans, 70, of Runaway Bay passed away with family at his side on Friday, March 09, 2018. He was born Thursday, January 29, 1948, in Decatur to John Wesley Winans and Myrtle Ruth (Jenkins) Winans. He was preceded in death by his father John Wesley Winans.
Grandpaw was a jack of all trades when it came to his professional life where he was a lifelong diesel mechanic, a man of the oilfields, and an over the road truck driver. His true passions though were his family, fishing, camping, and hunting. He was most happy near a body of water with a fishing pole in hand and grandchildren nearby.
He is survived by his wife Debra (Powers) Winans; Son Gary Winans and wife Judi, Daughter Tania Baines and husband Bernard, and Daughter Misty Winans; Grandchildren Kyle Aguirre, Allyson Allen, Jodi Bennett, Randall Winans, Dwain Kimmel, Christina Baines, Damon Winans, Rebecca Baines, & Brandon Winans; Mother Myrtle Ruth Narmore; Sister Ruth Ann Taylor; and various cousins, loved ones & friends.
Memorial services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
