On July 6, 2020, Cynthia Ann Salazar went to her Heavenly Home to be with her Lord and her Heavenly Family. She was born in Loraine, Texas on December 19, 1966 to Jesus "Chuy" and Petra DeHoyos Martinez. Cynthia was a strong woman of faith. She put her faith and family first in her life. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, sister and daughter. She would go to the end of all measurers to help anyone. Cynthia enjoyed taking care of her husband and her father no matter the distance or time of day. Between the two, she would always manage both homes. She loved to cook for everyone, fish. shop and clean (but more on the phone than clean). Putting on her makeup and nails were a must.
She was a communicant of St. Ascension Catholic Church in Bastrop, Texas and was always praying, had rosaries everywhere, scapulars and blessed candles for anyone who was in need. She was extremely friendly and would literally give the shirt off her back to help anyone. She loved to listen and dance to Tejano and Country music.
Cynthia is survived by her husband, Frederico Salazar Jr. of Bastrop; daughter, Jessica Ann Taylor and husband Marshall of Bastrop; son, Freddy Salazar and wife Angelica of San Antonio; father, Jesus (Jessie) Martinez, Sr. of Colorado City and grandmother, Dominga Martinez of Colorado City. She is also survived by two brothers, Jesse Martinez, Jr. and wife Barbara of Abilene and Raymond Martinez and wife Audy of Colorado City; sister-in-laws, Yolanda Torres and husband Edward, Mary Ester Cantu and husband Eddie Solis and Mary Flores and husband Sam Rodulfo; brother-in-laws, Frank Salazar, Ricky Salazar, David Salazar and wife Cindy, Lupe Lopez, Jimmy Caseas and Gabriel Salazar.
Cynthia also is survived by her grandchildren, Dominique Rae Salazar, Danielle Jae Salazar, Danica Ann Salazar, Andres Jesus "Chuy" Salazar, Jaelyn Arielle "Moggy" Salazar, Zoey Bella Rodriguez, Julian Luis Rodriquez and Eryka Ava "Wendy" Salazar. Also to cherish her memory are several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and god-children.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Petra (Pat) Martinez; brothers, J. Raymundo and Jerry Martinez; infant son, Michael Mikey Salazar; and in-laws, Frederico and Aurora Salazar.
Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held on Friday, July 17, 2020 at 9:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church with Msgr. Frederick Nawarskas officiating. Burial will follow Mass via escorted procession to the Texas State Veterans Cemetery for an 11:00 AM burial.
