Charlotte McKinney, 71 years of age, returned to her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock, TX. Her love and devotion to her family and her great faith in Jesus Christ carried her through her struggle with ovarian cancer.Charlotte was born to the late Irvin T. and Doris L. Netterville in Vidor, TX on August 13, 1945. She graduated in 1963 from Pasadena High School, Pasadena, TX. Charlotte married Travis McKinney several months after graduating high school and two children were born from this union. She had a variety of jobs throughout her life. One that she spoke of often was her time working at NASA. Charlotte retired from Region XIV ESC where she enjoyed working with many of her friends. One of her favorite activities was spending time with her granddaughters. She enjoyed shuttling them from place to place, as well as traveling with them. Her family was everything to her, and she was their rock. Even at the end of her precious life, she remained protective of her family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and caring and loving friend. Ms. McKinney loved spending time with her Lord in prayer and in His Word. She enjoyed watching Dr. David Jeremiah and the 700 Club. Her faith and belief in Jesus Christ were fervent even into her last days. She trusted God, his timing, his direction, and she knew His love for her was unfailing. Because of this faith, her stubbornness, and strength, she was a champion to her family in every battle she faced. Charlotte received the ultimate healing and gained her crown when she met her Lord. She leaves to cherish her loving memory: her children, granddaughters, brother, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Her family and friends rest in knowing that she is no longer in pain, free from sorrow and suffering.
