Time passes by so quickly and it is so easy to forget those of our family who were no longer with us. And that is why we need to all write stories and add photographs about those of our family no longer with us, so that others can enjoy those stories and celebrate the life and times of our family members no longer here.  I can still see and hear Uncle Buster.

My Uncle Buster was a neat person too know and if you knew him you would know what I mean, RIP Uncle Buster.

My Uncle Buster was the last of my father's (Jack Busby) brothers and sisters to die, the original line of Busby's for my part of the family is no longer with us - RIP

Remembering Uncle Buster - My Dad, Jack Dempsey Busby and Uncle Buster decided to open a gas station in south Waco in the early 1960s and were doing very well. They did not operate the station, they just owned it, but were doing so well Uncle Buster suggested they add two dump trucks to the business and all continued working well. After two years Uncle Buster had other issues to take care of in Houston so Dad and he closed down the gas station and sold the dump trucks. The reason I remember this moment in time is that Uncle Buster and Aunt Pat came to Waco more in that two years than ever before. At that time it was Uncle Buster, Aunt Pat, Michel and Bruce. Wish we had been closer back then. Most of the time the family only got together once a year at Cameron Park, everyone was always there and that get together continued until 1969.

Here it is March 2014 and a year has almost passed since Uncle Buster (Charles C. Busby Jr.) left us for his next life. Uncle Buster was the last of his immediate family, so a generation of Busby's has left us. Think of all of them often so they are not gone, they are still in my mind and heart.

You're in our thoughts and prayers today.  We pray our Savior returns soon to see dear bro. Charles again. Love in Christ.

Such a wonderful man that I only had the pleasure of meeting a few times. You could look at his face as he watched Jack play and see how very much he loved that little boy. Such a great spirit that Leah shared through her accounts of his quirky comments and quick humor. Love to all of the family as you remember all the love he brought into everyone's lives.

We'll miss seeing everyone at the funeral tomorrow. Bro. Buster was truly an outstanding example of a man who was in touch with God. He was always thoughtful...about others and about what came out of his mouth. He weighed his words and his advice could always be taken as not merely an opinion (which everyone seems to have today), but as a gift of thoughtful consideration for you to weigh out, compare to scripture and use at your own discretion. Which he would expect you to do, and not simply take him on HIS personal word.  We look forward to seeing Bro. Buster crowned with the eternal glory at the resurrection and judgment, and singing in that "saintly choir" of Christ's redeemed. All of you are in our prayers! Love, Stan and Windy and family

Thank you for your sweet message and memories. I may have met you several years ago in Waco. I came there with Papaw to a Christmas get-together at one of the sister's homes. Allison is my mom, but I've always considered Papaw the one who raised me and was my rock thru the years. He was very, very special to me, Jacob, and Heather. He still kept his home in Houston, but got to where he enjoyed being in Abilene most of the time. He would stay with me, my husband, and two boys (Jack and Hank). I wish I would have known you all better over the years. I was always facsinated by the stories he would share about his childhood and young adult years. I often heard stories about Sophie and Rufus, his neighbors. Leah Wolfe

Uncle Buster (Charles Cloy Busby Jr.) as I always called him was always living in Houston in my memory except for a brief time he moved to Waco to own and manage a gas station with my dad Jack Busby. Not sure why Buster came to Waco or why he and Dad bought and managed a gas station, but they did for a brief time. After Buster moved back to Houston we would go visit him and his family on long weekends or in the summer, we made that trip three times. Back in those days all of the Busby family would get together for a family get together at Mama and Papa's (Charles Cloy Busby Sr and Pearl Busby) house or in Cameron Park. We had these get togethers once a year till Mama died. Uncle Buster was always the mystery Uncle since he lived in Houston and did who knows what, always thought he was a secret agent working for Uncle Sam, he never admitted to that but I knew he was...Smiles. Wish we could have been closer over the years but family does drift apart, Uncle Buster will be missed, He was loved by all the family, RIP.
