Carol Ann McDonald Sewell, 67, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2012, in Shenandoah, TX. Funeral services will be 9:30a.m., Friday, July 13, 2012 in the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory St. with Cavin Hill officiating. Burial will follow at 11:00a.m. in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6 to 8p.m. at the funeral home.
Carol was born on December 28, 1944 in San Angelo, TX to Arren Charley and Ruby Leola McDonald. She married Tommy Sewell on August 16, 1964 in Stamford, TX. They moved to Abilene in 1993 from Andrews, TX. She was an amazing woman and a lady of many talents. Many hobbies included sewing, photography, genealogy, and she was a handywoman to many. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had a great testimony.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Arren Charley and Ruby Leola McDonald; her husband, Tommy Sewell; and her son, Calvin Sewell.
Survivors include her daughter, Shelly Estelle Leola Sewell Barnes of Spring, TX; two brothers, Bruce and Kerry McDonald of Abilene; three sisters, Leslie Kindle and Donna Holeman of Abilene, and Kelly King of Odessa; five grandchildren, Stephanie Lynn Barnes, Maranda Donnell Barnes, Joshua Aaron Kane Barnes, Matthew Evan Barnes, and Courtney Beth Barnes; and two great-grandchildren, Sara Lynn Link and April Alizabeth Link.
