Carla Sue Weaver

She died the morning of December 16, 2023 at her home in Abilene, Texas. Carla Sue Weaver was born to Johnnie and Violet Thompson in Carlsbad, New Mexico on February 19, 1950. Carla married A.W. (Buddy) Weaver, Jr. on July 22, 1967. They were parents to four children who she loved and sacrificed for until her death: Andy Weaver and husband Steven Weaver of Abilene, Texas, Amy (Weaver) Gearhart and husband Jeff Gearhart of Lubbock, Texas, Alisha (Weaver) Calvio and husband Andrew Calvio of Cedar Park, Texas, and Aaron Weaver and wife Jena Weaver of Possum Kingdom, Texas. Grandkids are Abigail (Gearhart) Pendergrass and husband Jayden Pendergrass, Cooper Gearhart, Noelle Gearhart, Aaron Calvio, Ashlin Calvio, Aedie Calvio, Amerin Calvio, Leila West, Andrew Weaver, and Jesse Weaver. She had one great grandchild Layken Pendergrass. Ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. Other family necessary to mention are Katrina, Karlie, and Kayser Stotts who played an important roll in her life.

No one loved us like our mother. She could have dedicated herself to anything in this life…she

chose her kids. She let us be exactly who we were and are and was accepting, patient, and loving

throughout our life journeys. She taught us how to love. She loved caring for others and would often reminisce about being a certified nurses aide. She had a deep abiding faith in God and did nothing to be seen by others. She knew God had her in his hands, and she was not afraid.

She was proceeded in death by her husband A.W. (Buddy) Weaver Jr.; her parents Johnnie and Violet Thompson; her four brothers Ray, Dean, Randy, and Dale Thompson; and her two sisters Sandra Sweeden and Carolyn Thompson. Her sister Dianne Macke Iives in Denison, Texas.

We will miss our mother, our cheerleader, the person who believed in us regardless of the odds, and our always vigilant protector. We pray they need muleskinners in heaven.

Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 19, 2923 at Coahoma Cemetery, Coahoma, TX under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home.
