Betty Ann Buck Miller passed into the arms of Jesus on October 7, 2024. She had been in the care of Solaris Hospice, Bridgeport just a few days when Jesus called her home. She was 90 years old. Betty Ann was predeceased by her husband of 62 years Arbie Lee Miller and her daughter Sande Leigh Miller. Betty Ann was the baby child of Forest B and Maidie Belle Buck born on September 9, 1934. She was welcomed by her many siblings of whom she adored. Betty was predeceased by her parents and siblings Thurman Buck, Josephine Buck Henderson, Maxine Buck Riley, Leon Buck and Foy Jack Buck.
Betty Ann attended Coleman High School where she graduated. Betty Ann married Arbie Lee Miller in Oct 1961. Betty and Arbie adopted their only child, a daughter, Sande Leigh Miller. Sande Leigh, who was the light of their lives, was born on February 24, 1964. They lived in Odessa, Texas for 30 years while Arbie had a career with General Tire and Rubber. As Sande grew, she became an talented barrel racer and the family embraced the rodeo life traveling with their rodeo family near and far to cheer for Sande as she won countless trophies, saddles, belt buckles and other awards. Tragically, Sande passed away after a long illness on February 8, 2002. In honoring Sande, they continued their love for the horse business their entire lives.
Betty Ann is survived by nephews Guy Riley and wife Cari of San Angelo, Lance Riley and wife Dayna of Montgomery, Roger Buck of Odessa, nieces Nikki Ann Henderson Dunn of Lamesa, Melissa Henderson Gustin and husband Mike of San Angelo, Marsh Buck Smith and husband Bob of Port Aransas, Vicky Sue Buck Klahn of Arlington, a host of great nephews and nieces, dear friends Ricky and Carol Mara, Mary “Murmur” Tuckness, and a big circle of rodeo friends whom she called family.
A graveside service for Betty will be held Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Wingate Cemetery in Wingate where she will be laid to rest with her husband and daughter.
