Visitations will be September 25, 2023 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm with the rosary starting at 7pm at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Highway 277 South, Abilene, Texas 79606. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 26,2023 at 1:00pm at St. Francis Catholic Church, 826 Cottonwood St. Abilene, TX 79601. An interment will follow at Abilene Municipal Cemetery, 1133 Cottonwood St., Abilene, TX 79604
On September 20th, 2023 Antonia Garcia Esparza took her final breath, surrounded by her loved ones. The sun rose and the world welcomed Antonia on July 25th,1942 a day the world became a little brighter. Antonia lived a full and warm life, filled with joy. She will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.
Antonia was a very active person and enjoyed keeping herself busy. She was an active member at St. Francis Catholic Church where she would help clean the church and was willing to donate to the church. She enjoyed dancing and listening to music and telling stories from her past and making tamales and boy did everyone loved them.
She was preceded in death by her parents Juan & Paula Garcia; her husband Agustin Esparza who she was married to for 49 years. Her brothers Joe Garcia, Andrew Garcia, Elias Garcia, Martin Garcia, Vincent Garcia; sisters, Jauna Garcia, Mary Lopez, Emilia Lopez; one daughter, Emma Esparza Hernandez and one grandson Salome Esparza Flores.
Antonia is survived by her sister Pauline Zuniga; her daughter Antonia Flores (Salome) of Abilene Texas; five sons Auggie Esparza, Adam Esparza (Sarah) Johnny Esparza, Daniel Esparza, Joe Esparza all of Abilene Texas; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandkids; 3 great great grandkids with one on the way and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Andy Garcia, Alexandra Esparza, Daniel Esparza Jr, Isaiah Alcantar, McKenzie Flores, and Tino Esparza. Honorary Pallbearers will be Angel Esparza, Johnny Garcia, Xavier Alcantar, Lianna Esparza and Serena Esparza.
