Ginny is survived by her loving family: sons Isaac and Elijah; grandsons Shiye and Zaidyn; sisters Moira and Cindy; brothers-in-law Paul and Alex; nephews Curtis and Spencer; niece Alexa and great-niece Florence; and a devoted circle of beloved cousins, family and friends.
Ginny was born in New Westminster on February 12, 1962, the second daughter of Fionn and Doreen. She grew up in Coquitlam, Burlington and Winnipeg before the family returned to the West Coast when Ginny was in her teens. She made lifelong friends during her high school years at St Patrick’s Secondary in Vancouver, going on to graduate from UBC with a Bachelors of Education. She taught elementary school for a number of years in Vancouver and Mission School Districts before stepping aside to raise her two sons, Isaac and Elijah.
Ginny loved music and was a talented singer, performing on many different occasions throughout the years. Her beautiful garden was a source of great pleasure. She adored her family and was a loving and supportive friend.
Ginny had something rare: true grit. She met each day, every challenge and setback, armed with her unique sense of humour and a deep-rooted determination to live life on her own terms. She was an inspiration to everyone who knew her.
If you’d like to honour Ginny’s memory, a donation to The Kidney Foundation of Canada would be greatly appreciated.
