Verna Marie Strathdee

In loving memory of our mother, wife, grandmother, and great grandmother, Verna Marie Strathdee (nee Amirault) who died in the presence of her family on July 11, 2022 after a very short battle with cancer. Verna was born December 24th, 1932 in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia to Abel and Linda Amirault. Verna was a resilient and kind woman who dedicated her entire life to caring for her family. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, George; her children, Peter (Linda), Allan (Daphne), Michael, Melissa (Jim), and Heidi; her grandchildren, Daniel (Danielle), Matthew (Safia), Connor, Taylor, Graeme, Nicole, Kaley, Liam, Miles and her great-grand daughter Ada.

Mom was a curious woman with many passions, a talented artist in many mediums, an avid reader, a lover of animals & nature. She always looked smart, dressed in colour coordinated outfits with her makeup done and she boasted that she never owned a pair of jeans. Mom was never afraid of death and although she was not ready to go, she told her us she was excited to see what her next journey in the universe will be. Mom will be profoundly missed, but we take comfort in the fact she has been reunited with her beloved pup Chi-Chi. Rest In Peace mom, we love you forever and always.

A private celebration of her life will be held by the family. Donations gratefully accepted to the BC Cancer Foundation or to the BC SPCA.
