Born on July 16, 1939 in Medicine Hat, and grew up on a farm in Tilley, Alberta. He was the oldest of three sons born to Trygve and Hedevig (Jensen) Gleddie. He met his wife, Joan (Lomheim) Gleddie while they were both attending Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills, Alberta. They were married in Onida, South Dakota on June 26, 1964.
Trevor is survived by his wife, Joan, three daughters: Wendy (Alex) Wray, Brenda (Terry) Friesen, and Angie (Rob) Koslowsky; and 8 grandchildren: Brayden (Natalie) Koslowsky, Tyler Koslowsky, Adam Wray, Miranda Friesen, Danielle Wray, Jordan Koslowsky, Michael Friesen, and Samuel Wray.
His first passion was farming on family ranches both in South Dakota and Southern Alberta. He was gifted with extraordinary mechanical abilities, and trained and worked as both an aircraft mechanic and a heavy duty mechanic. Trevor and Joan moved to Abbotsford in 1984 to be nearer to his girls who all attended Trinity Western University. Here he continued to use his mechanical skills at Friesen Equipment and Fraserway RV until he retired in 2003.
Trevor served faithfully in the churches in each community they lived in – Tilley EFC, Brooks EFC, Abbotsford EFC, South Abbotsford MB and most recently Clearbrook MB. He also had lengthy involvement with the Gideons and was a founding member of Cebu Children’s Shelter Society of Canada.
A viewing will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 7:00-8:30 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Rd., Abbotsford. His Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:00 am at Clearbrook MB Church, 2719 Clearbrook Rd., Abbotsford.
