Sarah Stahl passed from this life into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 18, 2024 in Abbotsford, BC Canada. She was born October 10, 1937 in Rhineland, Manitoba. She was raised on the Crystal Spring Hutterite Colony. In 1962, Sarah married John Stahl and they began their life together and had five children at the Waldheim Colony. In 1971, the family moved to the Plainview Colony where Sarah was the lead gardener of the community's gardens and the dining room server to the school children for many years.
In 1986, God called Sarah and John and their family away from communal living to the Fraser Valley of British Columbia to begin a new life. It was here that Sarah set up house for the first time to serve her own family. She was an extremely hard worker and learned to skillfully entertain new friends and bless them with countless home-cooked meals around her table. Sarah taught Sunday School for many years and made each class memorable for the little ones. She was very talented with sewing her own clothing and loved to spend hours knitting and crocheting, a skill she passed on to many of her grandchildren. Sarah had a unique way with her straightforward approach to life and made lasting friends everywhere she went. She was a faithful wife, devoted mother, loyal friend and devout Christian who served the Lord Jesus with all of her heart.
Sarah is survived by her husband John; her four children and 17 grandchildren; son John Jr. (Melody) and their children Jesse, Sonata and Joshua; son Robert and his children Joel, Samantha, Edward and Gideon; daughter Maryann (Peter) and their children Stephen, Lillian and Benaiah; son Samuel (Rebecca) and their children Gareth, Roseanna and Damaris; son-in-law Andrew and his children Chantel, Malachi, David and Bethanny; 21 great-grandchildren (and counting) as well as her older sister Annie and many nieces and nephews. Sarah is predeceased by her daughter Elsie, her parents Samuel and Anna, five brothers and four of her sisters.
