Paul Gordon Gemmell

August 11, 1953 - October 13, 2022

Paul was born in St. Catharines, Ontario and in his early years lived in several cities across Canada as his father’s career took the family to Oakville, Edmonton and Winnipeg, where he finished his education. Early in life Paul was stricken with a life-threatening illness which left him challenged to manage independent living. That all changed when he met and married Janis in 1993. The new team of Paul, Janis and stepson, James, provided the opportunity for a fully independent lifestyle that the three of them enjoyed over the following 29 years. Paul was best described as a gentle soul and a social person, who was interested in people and their stories and always made time for everyone.

Paul leaves behind his wife, Janis O’ Mara, stepson James O’Mara and three brothers, Bob of Kelowna, David of Winnipeg, and Peter of Surrey, as well as eight nephews and nieces and seven grand nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Margaret Gemmell, of Kelowna.

In their retirement, Paul and Janis settled in Abbotsford. Paul will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
