Patricia Jean Roberts

Patti was born in Edmonton, Alberta on 28 June 1952 and, in passing, now re-joins her parents Joe and Grace and her dearly beloved husband Glen, who passed away on 10 September 2018. She leaves to mourn her three children, Liam (wife Megan, children Ailsa and Gwen), Kathleen (children Joey and Piper) and Terry (wife Jen). She is also survived by her sister Teresa (daughter Moriganagh) and sisters-in-law Margaret, June (husband Keith, children Alisa, Stuart and Ian) and Valerie (husband Brian, son Michael).

Raised in Edmonton, Patti and her family moved to Chemainus on Vancouver Island in 1981, then to Abbotsford in 1989. She touched a great many lives and forged many deep friendships over the course of her life — all who knew her will know of her deep love of family, her boundless generosity and her legendary sense of humour. Patti brought life and light to every gathering, stories for every occasion and wisdom and constant support to those around her. Patti will always be remembered as a selfless caregiver, inspired to help others before anything else.

Patti was an avid gardener, a booklover, a talented writer and a great fan of her favourite sports teams, the Oilers and Eskimos of her hometown. Being near the sea would always bring her great joy, and she spent as much time as she could near the sound of the waves and in the company of those she loved. Patti was the greatest cheerleader for any of life’s achievements and was always ready to celebrate any occasion, big or small. Her love and appreciation for the beauty of life was unparalleled.

Patti was a guiding light for our family and we are forever grateful to have had her in our lives. We will miss her so dearly but will always cherish the fond memories of her smile, her laughter and her irrepressible spirit.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be warmly received in her honour.

A Visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Monday, 5 November 2018 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford, BC

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, 6 November 2018 at St. James Catholic Church, 2767 Townline Road, Abbotsford, BC.
