Her journey began in August 1953 in Manchester, England, and for most of her life she lived in Abbotsford after immigrating in 1976.
Marie was loved and respected by so many and made a difference to everyone who knew her.
Community service was a calling for Marie and she was a long serving Board Member and Chair of the Fraser Valley Branch, as well as Provincial Board Member of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation who worked tirelessly in pioneering a curriculum for women’s breast health in Canada. Marie was a highly respected and well-loved member of the Correctional Service of Canada family for over 30 years and demonstrated, through her exemplary service, a life-long commitment to helping others.
Marie's competitive nature came through in the many sporting activities she excelled at. Through tennis, golf, netball (Abby Netball Team), and dragon boating (Captain of the Spirit Abreast Team). Marie was a gold medalist in team courage, trust, laughter, friendship, and love.
Forever to be remembered in our hearts.
