Lorraine Dorothy Martyn

Mrs. Lorraine Dorothy Martyn, late of Abbotsford, BC, passed away on February 3, 2022 at the age of 87 at 6:00 PM. She is survived by her children David (Cheryl), Debra (Bradley), James (Charlene), grandchildren Joy (Clint), Graham (Emily), Gabriel, Caleb, and Jacob, and one great-grandchild, Mila. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas, as well as her parents Archibald and Mabel Helm (nee Gramson).

Lorraine was born in Vancouver on October 31, 1934 and graduated from John Oliver Secondary in 1952. In addition to living in Vancouver, Lorraine and Tom also lived in both Great Falls, Montana and Tsawwassen, just south of Vancouver. While in Tsawwassen, Lorraine worked for many years at Purdy’s Chocolates in nearby Richmond. They moved to Abbotsford in 2012 to be closer to family, and Lorraine’s final months were spent living at Bevan Village. Our family is incredibly grateful to the Bevan staff for all the love and care they provided Mom. Lorraine loved her family and will always be remembered for her love of the colour purple, her cookie recipe, and her ever present sense of humour.

A celebration of Lorraine’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Level Ground Mennonite Church, located at 31216 King Road in Abbotsford with Pastor Andrew Haak officiating.
