Born on February 16, 1930 near Killarney, Manitoba, Kay was the second youngest of nine children born to Johannes and Maria Retzlaff. She is survived by her brother, Vic Retzlaff of Abbotsford.
When Kay was 11 years old, her family moved to B.C. where she lived on farms in Hatzic, Mt. Lehman, and Arnold. In 1954, her family moved to Clearbrook. Kay's first full-time job was at Delmonte Studio. She then worked for many years as a dentist assistant, and as a secretary at Tabor Home. She was an avid world traveler, seamstress, photographer and was an active member of Bakerview Church.
In 2006, Kay moved to Tabor Court in Abbotsford where she stayed very active by walking miles every day and visiting family and friends.
As her health started to deteriorate, Kay moved into Menno Hospital in 2019. Her strong faith in God stayed strong until the end. She will be greatly missed.
