We are filled with both sadness and gladness. Sadness because one we loved has died. Gladness because she is now in the presence of her Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Born on December 15th 1932, in St. Boswells, Saskatchewan, she grew up in Regina, and later moved to Toronto to go to The Salvation Army College for Officer Training. There she met her future husband, Travis Wagner.
She was a dedicated and loving wife to her late husband Travis, and a devoted mother to her children, Major Deborah Coles, Major Dr. Mark Wagner, Dr. Jerry Wagner, Bruce Wagner, Randy Wagner, and Rodney Wagner.
Nita lived a fulfilling life as an officer in The Salvation Army serving as a single officer in several corps. After marriage, she served with Trav in several appointments across the territory as Corps Officers as well as in Public Relations and Long-Term Care. They retired from active service in 1997 in Abbotsford.
Nita was a kind and generous woman, always putting others' needs before her own. Her love and compassion extended to all those who knew her, and we will remember her smile and warm personality.
She is survived by her 6 children, 21 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren, who will miss her dearly.
A celebration of life will be held at The Salvation Army Cascade Community Church in Abbotsford, BC., 35190 Delair Rd., on June 28th @ 11:00 am.
