Jeff was born in Hamilton, Ontario, on January 27, 1967, to Art & Gail Potoroka. Jeff was the second of 4 children. Right from the start Jeff was the entertainer in the family.
In 1973, Jeff & his family moved to Dauphin, Manitoba. Jeff made many friends during his school years. Jeff enjoyed visits to the farm; he played hockey & played a guitar with friends. After graduating from high school Jeff worked as a paramedic in Dauphin. During that time, he obtained his real estate broker’s licence & worked in his parents’ real estate office. He was a super star!
Jeff & a friend opened a highly successful pizza shop in Dauphin. Shortly after that Jeff set his sights on BC & Jeff & his wife Michele (Currie) moved to Abbotsford & opened a pizza shop there. Jeff went on to own and operate a very successful appraisal company in the Lower Mainland.
Jeff will always be remembered by his generousity, his quirky personality, and his well-timed jokes. You would always know when Jeff was in the room because he was always the centre of attention. He was always ready with an obscure fact you would never have use for. Being the dreamer he was, Jeff was always willing to take big risks in every aspect of his life. Jeff was always the first to offer a helping hand to someone in need, whether he knew them or not. Some of Jeff’s favourite things to do were run the clock at hockey games, volunteer with Abbotsford Minor Hockey, and spend many years coaching his sons hockey team.
Jeff is survived by his parents, Art & Gail Potoroka of Dauphin MB, his brothers Michael (Cheryl) Potoroka of Dauphin MB, Wayne (Mindy) Potoroka of Dawson City YK, & brother-in-law Peter Bialkoski of Winnipeg MB. Jeff was predeceased by his infant son Jeffrey Dominic Potoroka in 2004 & his sister Katherine Bialkoski in 2014. Jeff is survived by his daughter, Ashley Potoroka, son Garrett Potoroka, grandchildren Owen & Jett, & special friend Iryna Jallouq all of Abbotsford, BC.
