Anita and family, we were sorry to hear this. Hilds helped a lot to inform about the Canadian family when I found you at last! It was always nice to meet her! We are thinking of you!

Hilda was so special.
She took over the raising of her younger siblings, after our Mother died.  Hilda was a wonderful mother, she raised us with "so much Smarts"...  she taught us so many useful skills and gave us the love and discipline, that put us in good stead, as we continued through our early years and into adulthood.

I will always love and remember Hilda for her caring ways ... a wonderful human being.

(A Poem I wrote about her, I met her when I was 16) 

Her Garden
I was a youth, perhaps nearly sixteen, 
A fair Hyacinth of L'Innocence
The sweetest smelling of spring bulbs;
In reverent awe succeed you
Throughout your English garden.

The craft, little did I know,
To nurture, root, thin, transplant;
We'd wrench pigweed, dandelion,
Sour grass; and too often
I, in my ignorance,
Yanked out the flower!

Your fairest Easter Lily,
Most intricate its design.
When picking choicest few,
We'd trim and slash the tender stalks
To craft bouquet for matrimony,
And church pew; a fragrant offering.

Tenderly you reasoned
The intricacy of timing,
To procure next years grandest bloom.
So you mulched in me, a tender Rose,
The wisdom of life's seasons,
And Maidens Blush did severely prune.

Oh matriarch, what miraculous design, 
What legacy of inheritance
You have planted in the soul.
For those who venture into your garden,
Your sanctuary of perfume,
Know upon departing that they have tasted heaven.

Magnificent matriarch,
Birthing generations, for eternity;
So adored by those you bore,
Unceasingly you toiled and sowed,

Condolences to your whole family.  I have memories of Sunday drives with my parents that would always lead us down to Aldergrove for an afternoon visit.

I have so many memories of going to Grandma and Grandpa Lundeberg's!! Some of which include going to the garden a picking carrots from the many rows of vegetables and washing or just a quick rinse with the outside tap. They always taste better with a little dirt ;) In the hot summer my sister's and I along with our Aunt Anita and cousins would cool off in the square wash basin filled with cold water or run through the sprinkler. I remember Grandma always had freezer cookies smelling so wonderful coming out of the oven. She was always prepared when visitors stopped by. I remember Grandma's flowers in her garden. I have planted some of the same in my garden to remember her. There is a street named after the Lundeberg's on the property Great Grandma and Grandpa used to live, I just wish they named it "Lundeberg Lane" as Grandma used to call it!!

i have very wonderful memories of Grandma AND Grandpa Lundeberg while they were living in Aldergrove.. One memory was that Grandma ALWAYS had a pitcher of a drink she called freshie.. it was ice tea or kool aide. And a drawer beside her fridge with a supply of crayons, pens, paper  and scissors for the grand kids to enjoy.. that was our drawer grandma always said..Grandma's peanut butter cookies were delicious as well.. Her flower gardens were always free of weeds and were filled with beautiful flowers both in Aldergrove and Clearbrook.. Grandma you will be missed and always loved.. xo xo xo

Grandma always had a beautiful flower garden in the front and side of her house in Aldergrove and Clearbrook as well.. Grandma had these peppermints in a bowl in the living room..

We send our sincerest condolances to you and your whole family. I have very fond memories of your Mom when you all lived on the farm in Aldergrove.

My memories of Aunt Hilda are from the early days when she was hustling and bustling looking after four small children so close in age, taking care of a large vegetable garden, and also maintaining a pretty display of flowers.  She was always busy, but cheerful.  Many years later, when I brought my new husband home to meet the family, Kirk played a little trick on Aunt Hilda, pretending to be a Jehovah's Witness.  She, of course, professed her own faith, and seeing Vera and I at the end of the sidewalk rushed out to greet us saying, I have family here from Nova Scotia!  When I introduce Kirk as my husband, she grinned at him and gave him welcoming hug.  

We had arrived at haying time and pitched in to help. After a day of haying, we went in to enjoy a delicious roast beef dinner with fresh garden vegetables, followed by strawberry shortcake and fresh whipped cream.  Aunt Hilda outdid herself, and it remains Kirk's favourite meal of all times!

Though we grew apart as our lives diverged, I know Aunt Hilda was a good lady, and great should be her rewards in Heaven!

I remember dear Aunt Hilda most for her love of family and friends. She always welcomed you into her home for a visit. Aunt Hilda's home made chocolate cake was so very delicious, as were her refrigerator cookies that she always seemed to have on hand. Her Scrabble talents were fantastic! Crossword and other word puzzle abilities were top notch as well. She will be much missed and loved forever. A beautiful and caring soul. God Bless You, Dear Aunt Hilda!

Mom  had deep sense of the beauty and sacredness of all life as she demonstrated in her care for her beautiful flowers and gardens and in her service with United church women.She also helped in the soup kitchen at the Mcc in Clearbrook.She always kept her place neat and tidy and her street too !She always had sugar cookies,peanut butter cookies and other treats on hand for the grandkids.we liked them too. Just an amazing brilliant loving lady. Enjoyed her garden, shared her world with whomever, including me, poured out hospitality on her guests, always keen on learning, (and scrabble :-) )  and most of all a great love for our Heavenly Father.
