

Garth William Oftebro was born on January 17, 1952, in Preeceville, SK. He was the middle son of Ray and Edna. They lived on Garth’s grandparents farm till 1958, when his family moved to Cranbrook, BC. In 1966 the family all moved again to Quesnel, BC. After Graduation Garth attended The Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, where he completed the Business Administration program, majoring in Marketing. He also completed 3 years of the General Accounting program taking evening courses at the University of Calgary. Later he attended the Institute of Canadian Bankers, graduating with Designation. He spent the next 10 years in commercial banking, marketing, and building construction sales. Then Garth changed career paths. For the next 40+ years he was a happy owner operator and drove all thru out North America, putting over 3 million miles on his Peterbilt Tractor. When he was home Garth was a proud and dedicated Kinsmen. He loved sports, especially Hockey and was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs Fan. In his youth and in his recreation years Garth played goal. Garth was also a die hard BC Lions Fan.
Garth passed away suddenly on June 22, 2023, with his ex wife but forever friend Kathy by his side.
Garth was predeceased by both his parents Ray & Edna, his younger brother Adrian, and his nephew Darren.
Garth will not be forgotten by his forever friend Kathy Oftebro, his brother Perry(Valerie), his nephews and nieces, Jason (Laurie), Connor and Callum, Cameron (Melanie) Coco, Tyler ,and Raven, (Tanya) Silas and Madison, Kaelyn, Landon and Van, Nicole(Neil) Auston and Hailie, Adrianne, Curtis (Jessica) Noah and Aiden and many good friends and trucking buddies.
Garth’s family invite you to join them for a Coffee to share memories of Garth on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 2pm at the Quesnel Legion 262 Kinchant Street, Quesnel, BC V2J 2R2 followed by internment at the Tranquility Gardens in the Quesnel Cemetery.
