Emily was born on September 17, 1943. Raised on a wheat farm in Dysart, Saskatchewan is where she developed her appreciation of cultivation. She was an avid gardener her entire life, and when she no longer had her own garden to tend, she devoted herself and time to taking care of St. Anne’s Parish gardens. Although she enjoyed having her hands in the soil, she was a “glamour girl” always dressed to impress. She had an impeccable fashion sense and an amazing gift for interior design. She was a long term employee of the Fraser Valley Credit Union.
If you asked anyone to use a word to describe Emily, most would say kind. Her deep seeded kindness made her a devoted helper to her cherished parish. A proud member of the CWL (Catholic Woman’s League) she was always ready and eager to lend a helping hand, and not shy to tell you how to properly cut the fruit.
Emily was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Katie Lawrek; sister Patricia Stoffel; brother-in-law Harvey Janz and infant son Robert Wayne Fox.
Emily is survived by her loving family; son Rick Fox daughter Tammy (Reg) Fox , and granddaughter Kylie (Glenn) Fox.
Emily is also survived by her sisters; Sophie Janz, Jo Urquhart, Elaine (Mel) Schwartz, brother Peter (Melodie) Lawrek and brother-in-law James Stoffel, many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and special friends; including her St. Anne’s family.
She will be greatly missed.
