Elisabeth (Lisa) Catharina Maria van de Ven

She is predeceased by the love of her life, husband Marten (1996) and also her parents Johannes and Catharina Van Gool. She is survived by her loving family: Cathy Gibbs (Bob), Linda Adair (Ron), John van de Ven (Lisa), Joan Woodley (Brent), and Elisabeth Leach (Chris). Also missing her are her 9 grandchildren, Nick, Martin, Travis, Erin, Spencer, Marcus, Amy, Warren and Morgan.

Lisa was born on February 7 1932 in Tilburg Holland. She came to Canada with her family, eventually settling in Abbotsford, BC. She married Marten van de Ven and together they built Happy Valley Nursery, first located on Old Yale Rd. and then later moving to McCallum Rd. She was an expert with flowers and plants and raised them as well as her family with loving care. Her family will remember her as a kind, gentle person, always there for them. The family would like to acknowledge Lisa’s wonderful caregivers, Rhoda Friesen, Agnes Zeer, Marjorie Borys and Maria O’Neil.

The family would also like to acknowledge Dr. Charles DeLeeuw for his dedication to keeping our mother in her home during her final days.
