Surrounded by her loving family our beautiful and beloved wife, Mom and Babi, Eileen Garrett passed away peacefully on March 6, 2015 at the age of 93. She leaves behind a loving legacy in her devoted husband of 72 years, Roy, her three children, Irene (Angus), Doreen (Stan), and Ken (Diana); eight grandchildren, Shaun (Kelda), Brad (Matiya), Kacie (Kevin), Troy, Jenny, Kathleen, Mitchell and Rachel; and four great grandchildren, Nate, Faith, Paisley and Isla; brothers, Steve, Rudy (Heather), Ben; and sister, Rosie (Gerry) and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by son, Buddy; sisters, Margaret (Jibber), and Ann (Steve); and brothers, Joe (Anne) and John; and by her parents, John & Helen.
Eileen Garrett nee Funfer was born in Vitanova, Slovakia and immigrated to Coleman, Alberta when she was 12. There she met the love of her life, Roy, whom she married in 1943 just before he left for Europe to fight in WWII. Roy returned four years later and he and Eileen went on to raise their family in Abbotsford, BC. During these years, Eileen was an active community supporter and was very involved in the Catholic Women's League and the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Br. # 15. Eileen held many positions with the Legion including President, Past President and Fraser Valley Zone Commander. Eileen and Roy were honoured as Abbotsford Pioneers in 2002 by then Mayor George Ferguson.
Babi, as everyone knew her, loved those around her and was deeply loved by them. She will be greatly missed but will be thought of always and memories will be shared often with laughter and smiles.

Henderson’s Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford, BC.
