A modern Austin funeral home
In 2022, Weed-Corley-Fish North Chapel moved from its former location on North Lamar Boulevard to Parkcrest Drive, just east of Mount Bonnell. With an upscale, designer look, every modern convenience and state-of-the art technology, we give today's families everything they want and need to celebrate the lives of those they love while honoring the legacy and traditions on which our business was built.
With 22,500 square feet of space, including a care center and a crematory, the funeral home cares for every loved one on-site with attention to detail you won't find anywhere else. Even before you step inside the building, you'll experience casual elegance. Enter under a wooden awning to find wide-open spaces, welcoming decor, neutral colors and an abundance of natural light. The fireplace is a cozy touch. The well-stocked coffee bar is a much-appreciated amenity.
Every detail remembered
From the main entrance, you'll see right into our gorgeous chapel. With round tables, Chiavari chairs and chandeliers, it can hold up to 200 guests and is the perfect place to celebrate life. Our full-time event staff takes time to get to know your loved one and your family, and then designs a unique way to share your loved one's story.
Created to accommodate all kinds of services, large and small, contemporary and traditional, the new Weed-Corley-Fish North Chapel has two staterooms, a dedicated hospitality room for small services or receptions and a catering kitchen. Catering services make food and drink easy, whether your wish is for a breakfast buffet, cake and coffee, or a sit-down dinner. Some families may want to celebrate in a special space with a speakeasy-type feel. It has a wooden bar, slab marble walls and leather accents.
No matter how your family chooses to remember your loved one, our goal is service beyond expectation—and we offer a 100% Service Guarantee. The team comprises longtime Austin residents with 200 years of combined experience. Compassionate professionals, they care for each family as if they were their own.
Cremation services
We specialize in cremation services that honor loved ones in personalized ways, and families love our transparent pricing. With expertise in scattering ashes and a friendly team who pays attention to every detail, we provide service that is second to none.
More and more people are choosing cremation over traditional burial, but most aren’t familiar with the many options:
- a cremation without a funeral or memorial service of any kind.
- a funeral with your loved one present, followed by cremation.
- a cremation followed by a scattering, cemetery memorialization or celebration of life—or all three.
For those who wish for a more momentous memorial, Neptune Memorial Reef is an underwater cremation garden off the coast of Florida. A Celestis Memorial Spaceflight takes ashes into space for a little while or forever.
There are many options for cremation—and they're not all equal. Here's what you can expect when you choose us for your loved one's cremation:
- Custody of care guaranteed. Our custody-of-care program helps safeguard the identification of your loved one from the time we bring them into our care until the time we return them to your family. We check, cross-check and check again, every step of the way.
- Exclusive custody of your loved one. We operate a private, on-site crematory and work with trusted partners. Once your loved one is in our custody or that of a trusted partner, they’re in our care until they’re returned to your family.
- Licensed, certified, conscientious staff. All Dignity Memorial crematory operators are licensed and certified by Cremation Association of North America, or CANA. Only one person at a time is cremated, and the cremation chamber is thoroughly cleaned before the next person is cremated.

Cremation in Austin
Our on-site crematory means your loved one never leaves our care. When we built the new crematory, we designed it to allow for witness cremations in a comfortable environment, which means your family can gather and watch as your loved one enters the crematory. If you'd like to be even more involved, you may push the button to start the process. Some families find an added sense of peace when they participate in this way, and we're the only funeral home in Austin that offers this option in a beautiful space for families.
Veterans and public servants programs
We deeply appreciate those who have sacrificed for our freedoms, and we specialize in serving the veterans community. It's our privilege to honor veterans and their families in need of funeral services. When it comes to honoring veterans, no other funeral or cremation provider is more committed to fulfilling your or your family’s wishes.
The Dignity Memorial® Homeless Veterans Program offers dignified funeral services with military honors to eligible homeless and indigent veterans. In addition, the Dignity Memorial Public Servants Program offers no-cost tributes for career and volunteer law enforcement officers, firefighters and emergency services personnel who fall in the line of duty.

History
For generations, Weed-Corley-Fish has been a household name in Austin, Texas. Part of the fabric of the city, it was founded the same year as the renowned Driskill Hotel, after Thurlow Weed and Jack Corley—both of whom were born into family funeral homes—founded the business on the philosophy of serving their neighbors.
Weed-Corley-Fish North Chapel was the firm’s first funeral home, originally located at 17th and Lavaca in downtown Austin. This location moved to North Lamar in the early 1950s. Soon after, in the late 1960s, Jack’s son-in-law, Laurens Fish Jr., joined the family firm.
The business continued to grow over the years, with the purchase of Weed-Corley-Fish South Chapel on South Congress in 1997, as well as the construction of Weed-Corley-Fish Lake Travis in 2008. A few years later, in 2012, the firm acquired Weed-Corley-Fish Leander.
Most recently, in February 2022, Weed-Corley-Fish North Chapel on North Lamar closed and we moved to a new, modern facility at 5416 Parkcrest Dr. It's unlike any other funeral home in Austin and allows us to serve today's families and continue the commitment of providing exceptional service and the highest quality care.
Over the years, we've buried nine governors and a U.S. president. It's our privilege to honor politicians, military members, veterans and their families, as well as every other family in our community.
Today, Laurens Fish III, Jack Corley's grandson, continues to oversee Weed-Corley-Fish. He's proud to live and work in the city where he and his wife were both born. "To offer a place like this for families on the worst day of their life is an honor," he says.
As part of the Dignity Memorial family, he and his dedicated team continue the time-honored traditions his grandfather established while meeting the funeral and cremation needs of the 21st century.
