Our funeral chapel

At Cementerio y Crematorio Del Angel Porta Coeli, we make it easy to have a ceremony right at the cemetery. Our beautiful, circular chapel is distinctive with a modern, open aesthetic, accommodating small and large groups with a mix of pews and chairs for seating. This offers a convenient space for your ceremony. Of course, you are also more than welcome to have a service at a local funeral home should you choose to do so.

The chapel also offers columbaria inside and outside, as an interment option, with more than 700 marble niches.

The cemetery originally belonged to the Archdiocese of San Juan and thus, the chapel includes many Catholic features. However, our chapel is available for funerals and families of any religious denomination. At Cementerio y Crematorio Del Angel Porta Coeli, we have experience with services of all faiths and backgrounds.

Puerto Rican crematorium

Since the 1990s, the demand for cremations has grown. To better serve those who choose cremation, Cementerio y Crematorio Del Angel Porta Coeli built a crematorium on the cemetery grounds.

If you are interested in cremation, we are here to discuss the process and your options. We also understand that some may request a witness cremation in which the family is present at the cremation. To accommodate this, our crematorium includes a viewing area as well.

It is our commitment to discuss your needs and family traditions, while offering affordable options that meet your budget.

Accessibility and parking

Our building is wheelchair accessible and includes an elevator. For ease and convenience for your family and guests, we also offer ample parking in our large parking lot.

History

Founded on June 2, 1953, Cementerio y Crematorio Del Angel Porta Coeli was constructed during the episcopate of Monsignor James P. Davis. We have always been 1 of the larger cemeteries in Puerto Rico, which allows us to provide many options when it comes to a final resting place.

Multicultural services

Our cemetery originally belonged to the Archdiocese of San Juan, which ran the cemetery for nearly 3 decades until selling it to Santiago Jaláis in 1981. While we continue to serve Catholic families, we also serve people of many other religions and cultural backgrounds. There is a section of the cemetery dedicated to those of the Jewish faith as well.

Construction and crematory

In the 1990s, lawn crypts and chapels were developed at Cementerio y Crematorio Del Angel Porta Coeli, along with the construction of a crematory on the cemetery grounds.
