Gaston Memorial Park

Carothers Funeral Home sits on the grounds of Gaston Memorial Park, a cemetery and mausoleum at 1200 South New Hope Road, where beautiful lives remain beautiful. In addition to traditional ground burials, lawn crypts and garden mausoleums, our cemetery houses chapel mausoleums and cremation niches.

As you arrive, the main cemetery entrance is easily recognized by our sparkling pool and fountain. Flowering shrubs surround our picturesque lake, home to a variety of ducks. We also offer a veterans memorial wall with flags and the names of veterans, police, fire and rescue personnel, which is centered in the Garden of Honor. It is our hope that these beautiful and meaningful features accentuate the park and provide comfort to visitors.

Flower Policy

Effective May 1, 2024, Gaston Memorial Park will begin a Cemetery Cleanup. Cemetery & Mausoleum Decoration Policy

• Floral stands, wreaths, baskets and other tributes, which are a part of the floral offering at the time of interment, will be left for several days and will be removed when wilted. Artificial flowers must be in permanent vases that are integral parts of the family memorial.
• The placing of vigil lights or candle boxes, toys, metal designs, ornaments, signs, cards, chairs, vases, glass, wood or iron cases, concrete plant boxes or benches, pictures or any article other than the approved family memorial upon the property will not be permitted.
• Only artificial flowers are permitted in the mausoleum. Natural flowers and plants will be removed and discarded.
• Mausoleum crypt decorations shall be limited to such decorations as may be placed in permanent crypt and niche vases. Decorations placed on the floor, or freestanding easels, on wrought iron stands, or attached directly by wire, tape, glue or such other similar method is strictly prohibited.
• Photographs, souvenirs, wreaths, flags, balloons, or other emblems are prohibited.
• The cemetery reserves the right to remove, and not to replace, already existing trees, shrub and other plantings that, through their growth, encroach on a lot owner’s property, become unsightly, diseased or damaged by accident or weather.

The cemetery reserves the right to move any prohibited items without notice to the owner.
