We honor veterans

At Reyers North Valley Chapel, we understand the unique needs of America’s veterans and their families. As a Level Four Founding Community Partner with We Honor Veterans, we are honored to serve our nation’s heroes and take this responsibility seriously. We have taken steps to ensure our staff is knowledgeable of all the benefits available to military veterans and their families.

In addition, we host community events annually in honor of our veterans and work closely with local veterans organizations. With respect, integrity and dignity, we will walk you through the steps of creating a veteran’s memorial service that truly honors the life and sacrifice of your loved one.

History

Reyers North Valley Chapel was founded in 1967 by Harlan Reyers when he realized that the growing north end of Grand Rapids needed a funeral home. The vacant lot at the corner of 3 Mile and Fuller Avenue was the ideal place to build one. Once complete, Reyers North Valley Chapel quickly became the neighborhood funeral home for the north end. Due to the high-quality service Reyers provided, he then realized the funeral home was not big enough to accommodate the community's needs. In the 1970s, several additions were added to meet the growing needs of the community and serve more families.
