About

Harry J. Will Funeral Home has provided funeral and cremation services to families of Livonia, Michigan, since 1974. Our team of compassionate funeral directors will guide you through every step of the process.

Large Detroit-area funeral home, multiple chapels

Lobby at Harry J Will Funeral HomesConveniently located less than a mile from the I-275 and I-96 expressways, our beautiful and spacious building is 20,000 square feet, which makes Harry J. Will Funeral Home among the larger funeral homes in all of Detroit. We also have ample parking, so finding a spot is never a problem, and all of our spaces are wheelchair accessible.

A waterfall cascades from the 2nd level of the funeral home to the 1st. The flowing water provides a calming effect and a tranquil sound throughout the space.

Whatever the size of your gathering, Harry J. Will Funeral Home has a chapel that will accommodate your needs. Though many funeral homes have a chapel or perhaps 2, Harry J. Will Funeral Home has 5 chapels—4 large chapels and 1 smaller chapel. Each of the large chapels is named after a great lake (think: Huron Chapel, Ontario Chapel) and seats 100 people comfortably with couches and folding chairs.

The 5th chapel, the Harry J. Will Memorial Chapel, seats approximately 30 people. It’s often used for intimate memorial services, family dinners or as a hospitality room.

We serve many cultures and religions, always working hard to be there for each and every family. Our Livonia funeral home lies within 3 miles of 5 Catholic churches. We have relationships with the Orthodox and Lutheran churches nearby as well.

Compassionate team, personalized funerals

A large funeral home requires a large and experienced team. Many of our funeral directors have more than 10 years of experience and know how to compassionately ease family members through emotionally difficult times. Our entire staff is warm, friendly and focused on your care.

Though many of our funerals are traditional occasions steeped in religious tradition, we also help design contemporary celebrations of life. We sit down with each family and have a heart-to-heart conversation to find out what made their loved one’s life special, and then we tailor a service to tell a story.

Personalized touches can be as elaborate as slot machines in tribute to a person who loved casinos or a fire truck at the memorial service of a firefighter, or as simple as photos and a poem. There’s no single right way to personalize a funeral, and our mission is to find unique ways to honor unique people.

Inviting banquet hall

The Harry J. Will Funeral Home banquet hall was renovated in 2017 and modernized to be an inviting, welcoming space for families to host catered receptions. Families often gather here before or after a memorial for lunch or dinner—as well as friendship and healing.

The banquet hall fits about 125 people and serves as a neutral backdrop for personalization with themed decor. An excellent sound system and television monitors allow you to play a memorial slideshows, home videos and more.

At Harry J. Will Funeral Home, we understand the unique needs of America’s veterans and their families. As a Level Four Founding Community Partner with We Honor Veterans, we are honored to serve our nation’s heroes and take this responsibility seriously. We have taken steps to ensure our staff is knowledgeable of all the benefits available to military veterans and their families.

As a show of respect, the Harry J. With respect, integrity and dignity, we will walk you through the steps of creating a veteran’s memorial service that truly honors the life and sacrifice of your loved one.

Flag donations

As a service to the community, Harry J. Will Funeral Home offers an American Flag Depository Box, where people can drop off American flags that have become worn over the years. To retire the American flags in a respectful manner, each Flag Day, we cremate the flags.

Community events and involvement

At Harry J. Will Funeral Home, we love being a part of the community and making a positive contribution whenever we can.

Each November, we host a candlelight vigil for families who recently lost a loved one. People come, light a candle and say the name of their loved one aloud. We also have someone talk about how difficult it can be to face the 1st holidays without those who have passed. It is a time to come together to support one another as a community.

We sponsor and facilitate the Silver & Gold Club, a club for senior citizens that meets once a month for a fun outing such as the Detroit Princess Motown Luncheon Cruise.

Our team has been involved in the Breast Cancer Walk for more than 10 years, as well as the Relay for Life and American Diabetes Association Walk. We’re supporters of The Tears Foundation and SandCastles. The Tears Foundation is an organization that helps families who have lost an infant or child under 1 year old. SandCastles is an organization for children's grief support to children ages 5 to 18 that have lost a parent, sibling, grandparent or other person in their life.

If you have a cause or organization you think Harry J. Will Funeral Home could help with, please reach out with your request.
