A beautifully renovated Johnson City funeral home

Renovated in 2018, Monte Vista Funeral Home is a bright and airy 3,100-square-foot building, providing a sense of calm and comfort for families. From the moment you step inside, you are met with a spacious, elegant foyer with modern amenities.

Our extensive renovation included the addition of a stunning nondenominational chapel, complete with a cathedral ceiling and chair seating for up to 120 guests. Stained glass at the front of the chapel provides an abundance of natural light. The chapel includes a state-of-the-art sound system, piano and organ, as well as two 65-inch screens that can be used to showcase digital presentations about your loved one's life. Visitations typically take place in the chapel.

Directly outside of the chapel is an outdoor area featuring a flowing fountain and bench seating. Families and guests often use this serene space for reflection and meditation.

Our funeral home also has two arrangement offices. The first is a small private room with a conference-style setting. The second option is a parlor that resembles a living room, with comfortable couches, a cozy fireplace and space for up to 20 people.

Monte Vista Memorial Park

The caring and dedicated team at Monte Vista Memorial Park provides exceptional, compassionate service at one of life's most difficult times. Also called Monte Vista Burial Park and Monte Vista Cemetery at one time or another, our cemetery has served Johnson City, Tennessee, for more than a century. The cemetery began in 1892 as Buena Vista Cemetery. Through decades of care and service, it became a fixture in the Johnson City community.

With meticulously maintained gardens, flush bronze memorials and stately upright granite and marble memorials, the cemetery has a range of burial options, both community and private. We also offer private mausoleums, a large community mausoleum with a memorial chapel, niches, cremation benches and columbaria.

Monte Vista Memorial Park is the final resting place for many area founders, city leaders and notable Tennessee residents. We serve all ethnicities and faith backgrounds and work closely with veterans organizations to honor those who have served our country.
