History

In the late 1950s, owners Cecil and Betty LaCourse wanted to expand the Funeraria del Angel Delano building in downtown Delano. They purchased 10 acres of land on the edge of town and asked the famous Frank Lloyd Wright to design their new building.

Wright’s passing two weeks later marked the beginning of a long journey that wouldn’t see the building completed until 1967. Thanks to detailed drawings left by Mr. Wright and the dedication of the architects at Taliesin West, the integrity of Wright’s vision for this building was maintained.

Today, as a Dignity Memorial provider, Funeraria del Angel Delano has been restored to Wright’s original design. Our amazing facility, most likely the last design accomplishment of this master architect, is available, by appointment, to be toured. See MoreSee Less
