The director, Jim Johnson, was extraordinary in every way after the unexpected passing of our mom. He went above and beyond to assist us during the entire process, always taking the time to answer our questions or help with our confusion, with caring professionalism. From the wording of her obituary to special accommodations before her cremation to clear directions once the death certificates came in, Jim was there for us. We are truly grateful.

We lost my Father and my Mother 6 months apart. Prior to that I and my sisters had no experience preparing for a funeral. Ridouts Funeral Home, specifically Keith, was professional but at the same time warm and caring. He guided me through the entire process. My parents passed away in Atlanta and were to be buried in Birmingham. Keith had a relationship with the funeral home in Atlanta who picked up the body and transported it to Birmingham. We are Jewish and Keith or Ridouts also had an established and exceptional relationship with our synagogue and their funeral committee. We did not have to concern ourselves with anything but getting to Birmingham and having a virtual meeting with our Rabbi to better acquaint him with each parent prior to the funeral service. Our Mother was always thinking and always thinking of us, her children and her grandchildren. She, of course with my Father, had bought plots next to their parents, aunts and uncles many years ago. At Ridouts in 2009 (they passed in 2023) chose and paid for the caskets, the care of the bodies and the service. It was a beautiful gift to us! We could grieve and had no worries or decisions. I plan to do that for my daughter and I recommend you, the readers, do it for your loved ones. Everyone at Ridouts is knowledgeable, professional, punctual and kind. Each of my parent's funerals were beautiful, smooth and easy. I highly recommend this funeral home for all of your needs and support.
