History

Pine Crest Cemetery was founded in Mobile by the Luce family. The 1st burial took place there in 1906. The Luces owned and operated the cemetery for many decades, finally selling the business in 1987.

Over the years, Pine Crest's commitment to the community evolved to meet a growing demand for services. As a result, Pine Crest Funeral Home opened on the cemetery property in March 1994.

Today, Pine Crest Funeral Home and Pine Crest Cemetery are members of the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers.

Pine Crest Cemetery

Water feature at Pine Crest Funeral HomeEstablished in 1906, Pine Crest Cemetery comprises 150 acres of gently rolling hills. The full-service cemetery offers a wide selection of burial options among large oak trees and tranquil waterways, including traditional in-ground burial, lawn crypts, bench estates and more.

Chapel of the Pines mausoleum is a beautiful indoor option for above-ground entombment and cremation interment in glass-front and bronze-front niches. Outside the mausoleum, there are granite-front niches that can be engraved. Tranquil Oaks is a space for reflection outside the mausoleum. It has a fountain and cremation benches. Pine Road Estates was developed for private built-to-suit mausoleum entombment.

Photos convey a lot, but we invite you to visit the cemetery to see it for yourself. If you would like a guided tour of the cemetery property, please call us.

Honoring veterans and public servants

Mausoleum at Pine Crest CemeteryOur unwavering commitment at Pine Crest Funeral Home and Pine Crest Cemetery is to serve families of all backgrounds, cultures and faiths. We also specialize in serving the veterans community of Mobile County, including homeless vets. We participate in the Homeless Veterans Burial Program, a cooperative effort with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, local medical examiners, coroners, veterans advocates and veterans organizations to provide homeless and indigent veterans who have no family with proper military burials.

We also participate in the Dignity Memorial® Public Servants Program, which offers no-cost funeral services for career and volunteer law enforcement officers, firefighters and emergency services personnel who die in the line of duty.

Community events

Pine Crest Funeral Home and Pine Crest Cemetery is an integral part of the Mobile community. We think it is important to bring people together throughout the year. Our Easter sunrise service brings more than a dozen local pastors and 100s of guests. During the holiday season, we invite the public to a remembrance service. A local pastor conducts a beautiful chapel ceremony, and Santa Claus usually brings the fun. All guests are invited to place ornaments on our tree in memory of their loved ones.
