Shirley Ruth Wheeler

Born in Kansas City Kansas Shirley grew up in Kinta Oklahoma, at the age of 16 she travelled west with her father to California settling in Jacumba Ca. Not long after she met and later married Paul Wheeler. After getting married they moved to El Centro Ca. because Paul worked for the Imperial Irrigation District, there they had their first child (Paul R. Wheeler), soon after they moved to La Mesa in San Diego Ca. and had their second child (Mark S. Wheeler). During this time Shirley went back to school and graduated from Grossmont High School, after that she remained a homemaker and 8 years later she had her 3rd and last child (Matt R. Wheeler) and the family moved to El Cajon Ca. In 1970 they moved to Alpine Ca. She went back to school and received her certificate for CNA in the State of Ca. She and her family stayed there for the next 18 years then moving to Hemet Ca. then to Ocotillo Ca. and finally to Florence Oregon Where Shirley and her Husband Paul would stay. I can say my Mom was the best Mom any son could ever have, full of Love, Kind to all she met and was always by our side through good times and bad. She and my Dad loved Mexico, eventually building two small homes there in Rancho Diamonte and later in La Roca. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, gardening and always kept a strong belief and faith in the Lord thy God. Mom we will Always Love you and never forget you – Matt Wheeler.
