Max C. Dunham Sr., 74, entered eternal life Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at home surrounded by family. He was born March 7, 1937 in Ottumwa, Iowa.
Max graduated high school in 1955 and Worked as a ranch hand in Western Nebraska.
In 1957 Max entered the U.S. Air Force, he met and married his loving wife Carol in 1959. He was honorably discharged in 1963 from Bangor, ME. Max moved his family to Nebraska where he was a mechanic. In 1967 he and his family continued their Journey to Yuma, AZ which became their permanent home. He worked as a mechanic for Yuma Automotive Electric, Yuma Co. Highway Department, and Yuma Co. Sheriffs Dept. where he retired at the age of 61. Max was a loving family man that enjoyed wood working, fishing, and working in his garden.
Max is survived by his loving wife of fifty two years, Carol Dunham of Yuma; son, Max Jr. (Cathryn) Dunham of Yuma; daughter, Sheryl (Laurence) Miller of North Carolina; sisters, Elaine Galbraith of Minnesota and Debra (Robert) Gloeden of Nebraska; brothers, Lowell Dunham of Philippines, Patrick (Karen) Dunham of Nebraska, Michael (Laura) Dunham of Nebraska; uncle, Duane Dunham of Nebraska as well as eight grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Michele Loftis; father, Lawrence Dunham; mother, Alice A. Dunham; brother, Lawrence Dunham Jr.; sister, Emily Hyde and step-mother, Lucille Dunham.
Services will be held at Johnson Mortuary with a viewing on Monday, March 5, 2012 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A Funeral Service will be held at Johnson Mortuary Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 10:00 A.M.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Immanuel Baptist Church (1000 E. 24th St., Yuma, AZ)
