December 14, 1934 – October 8, 2020
Cec at the age of 85, of Yucaipa, California left us on October 8th, 2020 with a great fight to live. He was born in Brantford, Ontario Canada to Ronald and Mable Spooner (deceased). He graduated and worked for Bell Canada as an Aerial Lineman. He moved to Inglewood, CA in 1958 with his high school sweetheart and wife Audrey of 64 years to pursue his dreams and raise his family.
Cec was a quiet, devoted, outgoing, fun-loving, down to earth, compassionate, very generous to the needy, hardworking husband and an incredible dad who loved life to the end. He shared passions with his horses and loved fishing at Rice Lake in Ontario, Canada as he was a great fishing guide to all who loved to be around him.
He started working for Standard Station then went on to El Camino College to get his BA while working for Kimberly-Clark as a Superintendent for 8 years. He then decided to work outside in the fresh air and became the greatest carpenter until he retired and continued to help others with his greatest skills and tricks of the trade to never be forgotten.
He then decided to write poetry and received many awards such as the Editor’s Choice Award for outstanding Achievement in Poetry by the National Library of Poetry and a trip to Washington, D.C. to receive the International Poet of Merit Award. He was so proud of his poetry that consisted of things that happen in real life, present and past of people, everyday happenings, to inspire people’s lives for the future and for everyone to be able to read and relate to, for days gone by.
During their 64 years of marriage they made their home from Brantford, Ontario, Canada to Inglewood, Lawndale, Carson, California where they completed their family. They moved back to Fenella, (Roseneath) Ontario, Canada to continue their life then to Edmonton, Alberta then back to Corona, California and lastly ended in Yucaipa where he enjoyed his family to the end. We thought he would complete his bucket list which included his last trip to Alberta to do a little fishing and be with his close friends and his family, but was taken too soon.
He is survived, missed and loved by his wife Audrey and their 3 children, 9 grandkids and 11 great grandkids: Cindye (Marc), grandkids - Sean, Janelle, Schevann & Trekk (Amanda), great-grandkids - Porshea, Lexani, Austin, Schevann Jr., Bronsonn, Julianna & Brooklyn, Kirk (Donna), grandkids - Denee (Mike), Trina (Kory), Sonny & Tysen, great grandkids - Owen, Liam, Ella & Ivy, Lisa (Elyse) (Allen), grandkids - Venesa (Josh), and one awaiting, Brenden (Katie), great grandchild – Noah.
