Rosita Bolognini was born on March 4, 1927 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her heritage was Italian. Her mother was a social worker and her father was a reknown cellist who spent most of his life in Argentina. As a young woman Rosita worked as a medical secretary.
In 1972, along with her mother, she moved to Sun City. Together they built one of the first homes in Phase 2.
If you ever saw Rosita out and about, you would smile and marvel at her sleek, fashionable outfits which always included white gloves, 2” pumps and a beautiful hat. She had a total of 47 different hats. Even though she suffered from severe Macular Degeneration, she would go out to lunch every Monday and Friday (usually at the Royal Café) and then grocery shop at Fry’s.
Rosita passed away on April 20, 2024 at the age of 97. At the time of her passing, she had no living relatives. She will be missed.
Entombment will be held at Sunland Cemetery in Sun City on May 3rd. After the service, we will be having brunch at Rosita’s favorite restaurant – The Royal Café.
Any memorials can be sent on behalf of Rosita to Saint Clements Catholic Church at 15800 Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ 85351.
