Mary Ann Gorey

Mary Ann Gorey (nee Divi) died on Tuesday January 29, 2013 at age 92 in East Amherst, NY. She was born on February 23, 1920 to Karl and Catherine (Saban) Divi in Czechoslovakia. Mrs. Gorey worked as a secretary for the Doctors office of Berafatti and Gomez. In 1938 she married Frank Gorey he died in 1970. Mary Ann when in Yonkers was a parishioner of Christ the King Church. She is survived by her children; Donald (Christine) Gorey of Yonkers, Mary Ann (Dave) Smith of Carmel, NY, Lorre (Jim) Lewer of East Amherst, NY and Frank (Patricia) Gorey of Frank Fort, Delaware. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren Michael, Marianne, Richard, Ellen, Frank, Brian, Kevin, Mark, Danielle, Anne Marie, Dave, Kate, Kevin, Kyle, Jessica, Jim, Denise and 23 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by 3 children Derrick, Kevin and Jane (Ellen) Guidice and 2 brothers John and Charles Divi and a sister Anna Wakin. Visiting hours will be at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Sunday from 1 to 5pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be in Christ the King Church on Monday February 4th at 10am. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
