She was born and raised in Yonkers, NY. Ilona attended and graduated Commerce High School, and later obtained her associates degree from Monroe College. She was a Pharmacy Technician and later became a Dental Technician. Ilona loved to read, cook and garden.
She is survived by her daughter Kimberly Frycz O’Connor and son in law Sean O’Connor, her son Marcus Franklin; Grandchildren Jonathan, Justin, Rebecca and Joseph; a brother George Orzuk and her ex-husband Hubert Franklin. Ilona was predeceased by her mother Eleanor Orzuk Ferro, her father Stanley Oruzk, her brother Joseph Oruzk and her ex-husband Michael Frycz.
Family and friends may visit Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home, Yonkers. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday November 18, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. Casimir’s Church Yonkers. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hastings on Hudson, NY.
